Content or behavior along with materials created to provoke racism isn’t allowed. According to us racism is either the intolerance or hatred of other race, or antagonism, or discrimination fixed against somebody of a different race on the basis of the belief that one race is superior or the belief that every member of a racial group has characteristics particular to that race, specifically to decide it as being inferior.
Artworks using racist terms in an informal or a casual and/or offensive way aren’t allowed. The final decision to delete a work will be based on the context in which such words are used. It excludes circumstances where legitimate commentary or discussion is happening.
The example includes a written work in which the artist uses the ‘nigger’ word in the perspective of describing the personal experience of racism would be permitted to remain. However, a slogan shirt having the same word would not be allowed.
Symbols and icons such as crosses, swastika, Koran, Hitler, and Confederate Flag can be used in an artwork but with meticulous and considerable care.
Artworks may be deleted if
- The intention is vague or unnecessarily provocative.
- The content is deliberately created to contravene anti-racist, anti-vilification or hate guidelines.
- The content is no on par with the country-specific laws.
