Copyright refers to the legal rights that protect original work or ownership. The copyright protects the following:
- Written materials such as the text of a web page, book, etc.
- Visual art such as illustration and photographs.
- Recorded materials such as song lyrics, movie dialogues, etc.
The owner holds the right of ownership unless he or she permits someone else to use their creativity. It means nobody else can copy, modify, sell or perform your creation without your permission.
Please keep in mind that the copyright only protects the designs or something you create. It doesn't protect the ideas you have. For example, if you have an idea to let a beer drive a bike. You just have an idea that hasn't been copyrighted yet. Once you draw it on paper, computer, or film, it becomes copyrighted.
